In Loving Memory of...

Do Not Forget Me!

During my short stay on this earth I loved and adored you,

I always in my way sympathized with you in your sadness and joined you in your happiness.

If I could have left you a message I would have asked,

That you never forget me!

A note from Lisa:

When I started this Memorial page, I wanted to remember all of the dogs we have had the pleasure of having in our lives, whether it is a dog we have lived with or a dog we came to love through training. So I started with our childhood dogs and went from there. What I have now have learned is - The loss of the dogs we have now is so much more painful! So, with that said, our childhood dogs will be at the end of the page and our recently lossed friends will be at the top.

Amica

Amica had the best smile! Of caurse every smile was followed be a sneeze, I have never figured out why!

I am having such a hard time with what to say about Amica. She was everything to us! The best baby sitter to the boys, the best mommy dog that ever lived, she never lost a puppy and the best protector of the house and yard you could ask for. We never ever had to worry, she would bite anyone that was not supposed to be there! It took her a long time to get to know you, but once she did you were her friend for life. Except for children, she loved kids, Any age or size! She wouldn't even let their parents near them! When the time came to let her go, I knew, I was ready, Larry on the other hand was not. He fought it for hours, but in the end we had to do what was best for her. It was her turn to go to God!

Savage

We had Savage for 13 years. His story is a sad one. We got a call one day from the sherrifs department. that a dog like ours had been found tied to a tree a week after the family had moved away. No one could get near him and they didn't want to shoot him. Larry walked up to him with a bucket of water and a hand full of treats. While he was drinking, he hooked a leash to him and walked him to the truck, he jumped right in.

It took several baths to discover his true color, the water ran red with blood and grime. Through the bathing process, he kept kissing the boys and us. He loved us from that day forward, but no one else could get any where near him. He never warmed up to any other animals, in fact, he tried to kill a female dog, that was in heat, that accidentally found herself out with him. But if you told him to "Down" he would tuck his head and do a shoulder roll and wiggle around on his back. He lived a long happy life, we will greatly miss his antics!! Go with God Savi, we love you!!

There is not enough space on the page to detail all of Boyou's attributes. Suffice it to say; He was a Saver of lives, A protector of homes and neighborhoods, A guardian to Children, A friend to many and an enemy to a few.

In his lifetime he: Learned to understand commands in eight languages. Was Off Leash, Protection and Gun Trained and an Escape Artist to Rival Houdini!

He was greatly loved and will be just as greatly missed! We know he is in Heaven, watching over and protecting us still! We love you Bear, you will live in our hearts forever!

Daisy

She was a rescue, yes, but she was the dog that walked into the house, jumped on the sofa and made herself at home. From day one she stole our hearts. She was the dog that if you were sitting on the sofa, she would climb onto your lap, lay down with you and fall asleep. She became my office dog, the one I spent most of my days with. The one who listened when I was pissed , who would calmly look at me as if to say, Why are you yelling at the computer? It's not doing it on purpose! Just calm down, it will get better!

One night, she wouldn't come out of her crate. When I did finally get her to come out, she wouldn't come back into the house.  I stayed in the yard with her the whole night, sleeping in a chair. She climbed into the chair with me and that's where we slept. In the morning she was gone, She died of cancer.

Reba

She was the first dog Chase was responsible for. We called her "the old lady"! Even when she first came to us, at age 4. because she had an old soul, with the heart of a lion. She would not take any grief from anyone. the boys were her life, her responsibility! Born in 1997, She died of old age, at 13 years old, in 2010. We will always miss her!

Ursa

Ursa was a very loving and protective dog. She would not allow the kids in the pool or on the trampoline while she was outside. We think she thought they were getting eaten by a huge monster. Chase once ended up with 20 stitches in his leg, because she wanted him off of the trampoline. He never blamed her, he said, "I should have made sure she was in the house first."

She died of cancer.

Nanny at 6 weeks Nanny at 3 months Nanny at 6 months

Nanook "Nanny"

Nanny was a gentle soul! He was born with a grade 4 heart murmur. He loved to just lay in the grass and let puppies climb all over him.

The stress from Huricane Wilma killed him, he was just 7 mo. old

Otis

He was Koty's 2nd charge. Koty Say's, "He was the s**t!" He was without a doubt the happiest dog that ever lived, we had to move him into a veri kennel, because he wagged his tail so much he would break the end of his tail wide open and spray blood all over Kotys room.

Even though he was a very happy American bulldog, he would not back down from a anything.

Koty with Petey

Petey

Petey was Koty's first rescue, the first dog that was totally his responsibility, and boy did he love that dog! He was a red nosed red Pit Bull, and what a love he was! He was found by a friend of ours, who while driving saw some boys beating him with a baseball bat. He was covered with scars and burns. Our friend jumped out of the car and told the boys, " You either give me the dog or I'm going to beat you with that bat." The boys gave "Cash" the dog, and he brought him straight to us. Koty instantly fell in love with him! It was very hard for Koty to let him go to another home, but he made a grown up decision and let him go to a friend.

Drakar

Drakar was a very sweet and loving pom pom! He was also very camera shy, we are still trying to find some more pictures of him!

Sleeping with my best friends! I'm on the back of the sofa.

She put up with alot!! She loved the boys!!

Shalimar "Shallie"

Shallie was one of the most special Poms I have ever known, she loved everyone! She was always naping with the boys and putting up with alot. She was the boss, she ran all of the dogs in the house.

Bobo

He was one of the best dogs ever born! Raised in a pet store, he would never walk out of the store or take any food out of a child's hands. He was also Koty's first babysitter! Taking care of Koty was his #1 job, which he loved!

Babysitting Koty!! Playing ball with Larry!

Annie

She was the girl that first stole Larry's heart. Annie's the dog that when Larry talks about her he still gets emotional! So do I!

When Larry would leave the house, to go to school or fishing, she would escape and find him. She would show up at school every day and wait for him. She could find him anywhere, up to 20 miles from home, even in the woods!

When Larry went to boot camp, she sank into such depression, unable to find him, she stopped eating. She died just weeks before he came home.

The Queen of Sheeba

Domino

The queen of Sheeba! She had her own chair, pictured, which no one else was allowed to sit in, but Trulie. Domino was Trulie's best friend. They were inseparable!

She would sleep on the stairs at night to ensure that no one could get to the family while they were sleeping. One night while going down stairs to get a drink, I woke her up. I had to back up the stairs and turn on a light, so that she knew it was me! I thought she was going to eat me. Beautiful and protective, what a great mix!

Mandy

Mandy was one of Larry's first dogs! She actually was the start of Larry's breeding beagles.

She was the best rabbit tracker in the world! She was so fast she could beat a rabbit to its hole and cut it off. She helped make many a pot of stew. She was also the best lap dog, where ever you sat, she was on your lap, even if you were on the potty!

Trulie

Lisa's first love! At the weight of 7 lbs. she once tryed to save me from a big, bad stack of boxes. She pulled on the cuff of my pants until I got off of the boxes. She was very proud of her self! She had saved my life!!

Trulie was born in 1969 and passed in 1989. Of old age.

Trulie with Vaness in the mid '70's

Oliver

Oliver & Sax

Larry's Great Pyrenees, Oliver, Pictured as a Puppy. He was the terror of the neighborhood. He loved to knock kids off of their bikes, and take the bikes home to Larry and his brothers.

Sax was a husky lab mix who found the family one day and stayed. He lived to the ripe old age of 11.

Sax

Dodi

Lisa's first dog! She was a mini Poodle. A very loving dog who took care of me and would never let me out of her sight.

Lisa as a baby

Hondo

Larry's first dog! He was a boxer / Mastiff mix. He was Larrys first protection dog. He protected all of the boys while they lived in So. Philly. Larry has 3 brothers.

Larrys mom always put him on Hondos back for rides. He says his mom is responsible for his love for dogs! Even though she was not really a dog person. When you have a dog like Hondo, That watches everything and everyone around him, it's easty to understand.
